Craig Lawrie not defending NE Alliance

championship, playing at Sunningdale

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
The North-east Alliance Championship first round will be played at Portlethen on Wednesday with the final round at Craibstone a week on Wednesday (March 22).

Craig Lawrie (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre), pictured, was the winner of the title over Inverallochy and Craibstone courses last year.
And he has run into form at just the right time, having won last week's NE Alliance fixture at Duff House Royal.
Unfortunately, he will not be defending the title as he and his dad Paul have entered the Sunningdale Foursomes tournament which is on the same week.
John Duff was the NE Alliance champion in 2015 and 2013.
Greig Hutcheon won the title for the first and only time in 2014.
