NE Alliance at Buckpool postponed: Nine-hole

competition alternative at Paul Lawrie Golf Centre

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Tomorrow's North-east Alliance fixture at Buckpool Golf Club has been postponed because of the wintry conditions and bad weather forecast.
Secretary Michael MacDougall was unable to find a suitable alternative venue which was not using winter greens and was not affected by frost.
But the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre nine-hole, par-3 course will be used to stage two nine-hole events at the Banchory Devenick course on the South Deeside Road.
Michael stresses that it will not be a North-east Alliance event and Order of Merit points will be not be at stake but he has organised this "unofficial" competition for those who would rather have a game of golf on a Wednesday than be inactive.
The first shotgun start will be at 10.45am and the second at 12.45.
Tee times will appear on this website as soon as available.

There is a restaurant at the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre for those who wish something to eat either before or after their golf.
